The latest Investigation Shows—Enterprises Need Industrial News Most

Nowadays, the competition in the market is becoming fiercer, and as a result, decisions made by enterprises are more and more dependent on the quantity and quality of the information they obtained and the effectiveness of putting it into use. Rapid obtaining, mass collection, proper handling and efficient utilization have become the four key factors for an enterprise to succeed in the market competition. According to an investigation of 1986 nationwide enterprises carried out by a famous investigation Co., Ltd in Beijing, among all the information, it is the industrial information that enterprises need most.

This time, the investigation groups the present situation of the industry and information on policy and regulation together, called ‘industrial information’; market prediction or analysis and consumer’s demand together, called ‘the changeable information of the market; trade information and financial information together called ‘trade and financial information’. Information about IT is ‘Information about networking technology’. Domestic news and foreign news are ‘Ordinary information about current affairs’. The investigation shows us a rank of the type of information enterprises need: industrial information, changeable information of the market, trade and financial information, networking technology information, and ordinary information on current affairs.

One reason why industrial information becomes the top choice is that enterprises are placing more and more focuses on the change of industrial policy resulted from the transformation of national economy, and another reason is the monopolization of industrial information and its lack of transparency.

On further analyzing the way enterprises tend to use to obtain information, we find that traditional media remains the main channel for enterprises to obtain useful information, but no longer a dominant way or the only way. Obtaining information from various resources is not only necessary in adding information for enterprises, but also guarantee in the accuracy of the information.

Through investigation, it is also found that there are four inconvenient factors hampering information collection of enterprises: inadequate relevant information that can not provide enough references; too outdated information that can not be updated in time; unrepresentative market information that can not be fully trusted; much trivial details in the arrangement of information, which makes the information too inconvenient to use.

Ministry of Commerce：100,000 Village Chain Stores will be Built and Renovated This Year

160,000 village chain stores had already been established under the “market project of tens of thousand villages and thousands of towns” carried out by the ministry of commerce by the end of last year. Covering 63% of the counties in the country, the project has brought investment worth 11.7 billion RMB from local places and enterprises, absorbed about 650,000 labor forces, benefited 140,000 farmers and expanded consumption worth 60 billion RMB in the village.

Ministry of Commerce said yesterday that the modern circulating net in the countryside had already initially established, and the condition that the consumption in villages is “unsafe and inconvenient” will be greatly improved.

“The market project of tens of thousand villages and thousands of towns” is the commercial network initiated by Ministry of Commerce to make transactions much easier and market information more accessible for farmers. As a circulating network in the countryside, it was built with stores in cities as the head, shops in towns as the backbone and small shops in villages as the basis to satisfy farmers’ demand on production and living. The ministry planned to use three years’ time (2005-2007) to cover 50% administrative villages and 70% towns with standardized

stores. By the year 2010, over 65% administrative villages and over 85% towns will be covered.

In order to reach the above goal, Ministry of Commerce and Financial Department allocated altogether 53.3 billion RMB as subsidy and the National Development Bank allocated 10 billion RMB as loan granted for policy consideration to support the development of the market system in the countryside. Ministry of Commerce places more emphasis on China’s western regions while strengthening the management of the quality of the program. In 2006, the standard of the subsidiary of every program raised 43% and 32% than that in 2005, and the construction plan of more than ten thousand village stores in western regions has been implemented.

As for the last year of the three years’ plan, the minister of the Market System Development in Ministry of Commerce Chang Xiaoshu expresses his hope to build and renovate 100,000 village stores in 2007, which needs the central government to provide a large sum of fund to support. The ministry plans to support the entry of large-scale logistics companies into the “market project of tens of thousand of villages and thousands of towns” and studies the feasibility of directly subsidizing the allocating centre.

In 2006, Chinese tobacco industry kept its stable development, and the tax profit registered in the industrial and commercial department of the whole industry reached 290billion RMB, an increase of 20% than last year.

Our reporter got the news from State Tobacco Bureau that the tobacco industry regarded “the control of the overall quantity, the stabilization of the scale and the prevention of overheating” as the priority of its work last year. The industry organized production and purchase strictly in accordance with national plan, which has put the plantation area of tobacco under control and made the production of tobacco develop stably for the ninth consecutive year. The area of plantation of flue-cured tobacco had a decrease of 1.02 million mu than the same period of last year, and the amount of purchase is about 41million bundles, which has reached the previous goal.

Meanwhile, the industry perfected the management system of tobacco’s purchase and distribution and popularized the inspection –in-advance system in the purchase of tobacco. The qualification rate in the purchase of tobacco in key production areas nationwide reaches above 80%. Besides, the quality of the economic operation in the whole industry and its efficiency is improving gradually.

One point that must be mentioned is that the whole industry has been in a position to fight against counterfeits in last year. With the same priority given to the fight against the source of counterfeits and its network, nearly four hundred illegal networks had been cracked down, and twenty four severe cases involving the sum over ten million RMB had been put on trial. 330,000 cases involving the production and sale of counterfeit cigarette trademarks had been dealt with severely in the whole year.

Besides, the self-innovation ability of the tobacco industry continues to improve, and the amount of tar in a cigarette decreases to 13.2 milligrams, 0.3 milligrams lower than last year.
